Track isn't focused after loading Track Template?

I have a pretty established workflow in Cubase, where I have an empty session and use Track Presets/Track Templates according to what I need. I saved these presets with the Volume being completely down and level them with my Faderport from Presonus once they are loaded. I wanna do the same thing in Reaper but have a very annoying issue: when I load in a Track Template the track isn't focused (only the very first one in a session), so if I move my Faderport it changes the volume of another track. What I have to do is select another track, then reselect the newly loaded in track. Any way to fix this, so that a track loaded in via Track Template is focused immediately? Thank you! :)

I can assure you that every track I add from template is on focus and would be ready to get remote controlled. If I add five tracks from a template, even all five tracks are highlighted. How do you add them? In the arrange/track window? Sounds strange to me, why your templates don't get selected. Maybe you should open the Undo History and watch - after adding the template - if some script or action shows up there. :)

I load it in via the dropdown menu or the media explorer, both have the same issue. The thing is, the track DOES get selected, but the focus of my Faderport is on another channel. I made a quick demonstration: I load in the track and move my Faderport and as you can see it affects another track. I first need to deselect the imported track and reselect it, then it works. There is also nothing to see in the Undo History. Thanks for your help! :)

I don't use faderports so I can't reproduce it. But could it be that you've assigned the midi controller to the 1st track only? Okay, the answer is already there in your video. Hm, lets hope someone else reads your question and knows the answer for your problem. Greetings Eli :)
